'The Ghost of Ben Hall'

Ben Hall took his place in the Bushranger's Hall of Fame when ambushed by police just outside Forbes, at a place near Billabong Creek.

I wrote this song after contacting a guy called Mark Matthews (when I was looking to promote my other track 'Bushrangers'). I was just amazed by the work and content he had dedicated his website, which has also been selected for permanent preservation in The National Library of Australia's Pandora Archive (www.benhallaustralianbushranger.com.au).

Within a week of reading many articles and accounts I was hooked. I wrote this song within about a three weeks and, as I do with all my song-writing, had AI step in and redo my own vocals and basic melody for the final result (which ended up being 3 songs re-stitched together with additional effects added).

Regarding the clip, well that idea came from Tom Roberts' 'Bailed up' masterpiece. It was perfect for aligning the lyrics 'Bail Up' (in the chorus) with the artwork... and then I just rode with the idea of using other famous Australian artworks to help animate Ben Hall's life.
